Fighting for children's rights
Florida's Children First (FCF) was founded in 2001 by attorneys from across Florida who were working on issues affecting Florida's most vulnerable children. Our primary work is with children in state custody. We also work on issues for children who have disabilities and children who are immigrants. FCF staff, board members, volunteers, and advocates devote their time to ensure that each child in care or in an at-risk situation will have a voice that is heard when decisions are made. We use legislative and policy advocacy, executive branch education and advocacy, training and technical assistance to lawyers and Guardians Ad Litem representing children, public awareness, and filing of amicus briefs as strategies to improve child serving systems.
Serving the poorest of the poor
Food For The Poor (FFP) ministers to spiritually renew impoverished people throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Established in 1982, FFP's goals are to improve the health, economic, social and spiritual conditions of the men, women and children we serve. Food For The Poor raises funds and provides direct relief assistance to the poor, usually by purchasing specifically requested materials and distributing them through the churches and charity organizations already operating in areas of need. Since its founding FFP has distributed more than 63,000 tractor-trailer loads of aid to the poor. We have also built more than 84,000 housing units for people desperately in need of adequate shelter, and completed more than 1,475 water projects that provide lifesaving water and sanitation to hundreds of thousands of people in need.

Healing, hope and home for every child
SOS Children's Villages - Florida offers our foster children the benefits of family life and a brighter future. Our village is a place where foster children come to live and grow with the nurturing and stability every child deserves. Since 1993, SOS has helped raised more than 450 boys and girls. Together we have pledged and fulfilled the promise of healing, hope and home for every child. Once a child turns 18, they are considered adults and are no longer part of foster care.
