College. It's Possible.
For many students in Denver, continuing their education beyond high school doesn't seem like a viable option. Most often, it's not low grades or lack of extracurricular activities keeping them from pursuing their dreams. There are thousands of intelligent, hard-working individuals facing the most intimidating barrier to college of all -- they think it just isn't possible. But the Denver Scholarship Foundation (DSF) is changing that. DSF inspires and empowers Denver Public School students to enroll in and graduate from post-secondary institutions of higher education by providing the tools knowledge, and financial resources essential for success.

Field school for environmental organizing
The mission of Green Corps is to train organizers, provide field support for today's critical environmental campaigns, and graduate activists who possess the skills, temperament, and commitment to fight and win tomorrow's environmental battles. In 1992, U.S. PIRG (Public Interest Research Group), the Federation of State PIRGs, launched Green Corps as a graduate school for environmental organizers - with a difference. This program not only gives participants a solid academic grounding in their field of choice; it provides concrete field experience, establishes relationships between the participants and the major environmental organizations they hope to serve in, and even pays participants to enable them to engage full-time in their chosen work.

Putting an end to sexual assault through prevention and care
The Blue Bench (formerly RAAP) is metropolitan Denver's only comprehensive sexual assault prevention and support center. Since our founding in 1983 we've worked tirelessly to eliminate sexual assault and diminish the impact it has on individuals, their loved ones and our community. Our hope is to one day live in a world where sexual assault no longer exists; where there are no more victims, friends and families suffering in its wake. This is what inspires our efforts. And until that day comes, our work is not complete. Inspired by the courage of one another - as survivors, activists, advocates and community leaders, The Blue Bench has helped hundreds of thousands of Denver-area women and men find the courage to move from victim to survivor.

A refuge for rebuilding lives
The Gathering Place (TGP) is metropolitan Denver's only daytime drop-in center for women, children, and transgender individuals who are experiencing poverty or homelessness. In addition to providing a safe refuge, TGP services and programs meet basic needs and provide resources for personal growth. TGP serves some of the most vulnerable in Denver and they tend to face a complex set of circumstances (e.g., unsafe living situations, physical or mental health issues, disabilities, lack of access to resources or technology). To meet as many needs as possible, TGP is many things to many people. To the mother interested in earning a GED, TGP is a place to study while her kids play in the family area. To the artist who needs to earn some cash, TGP is The Card Project. To the woman dealing with health issues and barely able to make ends meet, TGP is a trusted source for nutritious meals. To the newly homeless woman, TGP is a safe refuge where she can begin to rebuild.
