Fostering economic and cultural sustainability for folk artists and folk art worldwide
Over the past 10 years, the International Folk Art Alliance (previously known as the Sante Fe International Folk Art Market) has expanded programs to meet the specific challenges that folk artists are facing in the global marketplace. Allied with the world's master folk artists, IFAA supports communities around the world to have clean drinking water, girls in school, improved health care and thriving folk art communities. Live united
In 2001, United Way of Santa Fe County (UWSFC) adopted "creating lasting change in chronic community conditions" as its mission. After an extensive needs assessment, UWSFC launched the Santa Fe Children's Project (SFCP). The SFCP is an innovative community development initiative that seeks to strengthen families, and the whole community, though a sequential pipeline of early intervention, education, and development opportunities. In its full implementation, families with young children will participate in a wide array of opportunities: social, educational, economic, and community development programs that, taken together, can change the academic, social, and economic conditions of the whole community leading to greatly increased community assets, family strengths, and, ultimately, greater success in children.

Exploring the intersections of contemporary art and society
The Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI) was founded in 1985 by Pony Ault and the noted architect and artist William Lumpkins, both of whom sought to provide a unique opportunity for emerging artists to pursue a brief, intense period of study with critically acclaimed visiting artists. SFAI takes as its mission an exploration of the intersections of contemporary art and society. By bringing together prominent individuals and institutions in the arts, sciences, and humanities, SFAI enlivens local, national, and international discourse through residencies, lectures, workshops, publications, exhibitions, and educational and outreach programming. In support of this mission, SFAI has developed a wide range of programs aimed at serving artists at various stages of their careers and diverse audiences.

Supporting animals, saving lives and spreading compassion
Founded in 1939, the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society is the largest animal shelter and care facility in Northern New Mexico. More than 6,000 lost, stray, abandoned or injured animals come through our doors each year. We work to reunite people with their lost animal companions, and re-home those animals who have gone unclaimed into new homes through several methods, including adoptions, fosters and transfers. Low- and no-cost spay/neuter programs address the overpopulation problems that our community faces. Humane education programs in our local schools teach children to respect and care for all living creatures. Partnered with our community, we work for change in the lives of our companion animals and to end the suffering of all animals.
