Everyone deserves the opportunity to have a good life: a quality education that leads to a stable job, enough income to support a family through retirement, and good health. That's why United Way Worldwide is focused on the building blocks for a good life: education, income and health. Locally, the North Penn United Way (with a tremendous amount of input from community members) has identified three targeted Community Goals that we feel we are uniquely positioned to tackle. As an organization we will recruit and mobilize people and organizations from all across the community who bring passion, expertise and the resources needed to get things done. Our three Community Goals are: students succeeding in school; older adults remaining as independent and community-connected as possible ; and providing a strong safety net for people in crisis.

Today, the best way to make the biggest possible impact is to first focus on areas that change people's lives forever: preparing kids to enter school ready, and to graduate and succeed, helping families leave poverty permanently by becoming financially stable and independent, and enabling people to live healthy, responsible lives. We engage the community to improve lives by focusing resources on education, health, income.

Missouri Slope Areawide United Way is a non-profit organization which funds 33 partner agencies and 66 community programs. Serving the West Central Region VII, MSA United Way covers 10 counties in North Dakota. First formed as the Community Chest in 1927, the organization was prompted by local merchants who were annually plagued by dozens of solicitors representing local and state-wide agencies. They wanted to centralize their philanthropy and donate through an umbrella organization. At the time, the Community Chest was a part of the Bismarck Association of Commerce. In 1975, the Community Chest became the United Way of Bismarck and in 1985, the United Ways of Bismarck and Mandan merged, becoming the Missouri Slope Areawide United Way.

United Way of Pueblo County exists to develop donor resources to enhance the quality of life for the people of Pueblo County. United Way of Pueblo County is autonomous, directing our own course based on community needs and the direction given by our governing board. The spirit of philanthropic giving began in Pueblo in 1923 when community leaders raised $105,000 by going door-to-door. It was known first as the Community Chest, then the United Fund and now, United Way. While the name changed, the mission remained constant--to raise funds whereby donors could give to a single effort and help support the array of needed and critical services in our community.
